I knew some of those connections, but the Yerington Nugget was new to me. The Last Chance Joe character was / is one of my favorites.

Reminds me of a lone burro that was standing outside in Virginia City last time I was there (probably 5 years ago). I assume he had an owner somewhere, likely dressed like a prospector, and available for tourist pics in exchange for a donation.
