() I have bought a number of casino tokens that "were" slabbed. For me it is about knowledge if a collector wishes to be informed. When I see a token I like I want to know what it is and what it is made of, what metal. I check my own book I wrote or my data base. I check the chip on line guide. I also check Dan Wicketts web site. Along with other books I have bought over the years. There is plenty of information out there if a person really takes the time to find it. And all of this and even more is generally available with casino chips. Way ton of different books/guides on chips from every state and country.
On the slabbed tokens I have bought because I wanted it as it was one I did not own or maybe it is an upgrade from what I already have. Once I have it I take it to my shop and with my band saw I cut it free of the slab. toss the plastic away and move on.
If the seller has crummy pictures I pass or ask for better pictures, simple again.
Slab or don't slab. I personally don't care. It's do I need or want whats in the slab.
My nickels worth.
Keep on collecting however it is that makes you happy.
