BIG Collection For Sale
Greetings! Many of you know me, but for those that do not, here is a little info. I started collecting chips in the 80's by bringing home a few chips from each casino I visited while often traveling for work. I then found this chip community in the late 90's, became a very active collector/trader, convention attendee and a lifetime member (LM-5882-188). For various reasons, I stopped collecting around 8 years ago. At this time, I am ready to sell the chips I have.
From the beginning, I documented each chip in my collection in an Excel spreadsheet. It was minimal effort to build and has been very valuable to me over the years. For example, from the spreadsheet, I can easily see I have 13,455 chips available. I can sort and/or filter/breakdown the collection in so many ways such as how many chips by state (example 1,538 chips from California with 626 different), or how many by casino or denomination or mold or ... I can provide this spreadsheet upon request and if you are not strong with Excel, I can modify it to give you just what you want (i.e. $1 chips from Colorado).
The collection is comprised mostly of $1 chips (4,136 different with 12,964 in total) but also has some other items as well including various denominations, 118 win card chips, 39 roulettes, 286 advertising chips, ... There are some valuable chips in the collection and there are some common chips as well. Note that as I collected, I put a good amount of emphasis on chip condition.
At this point, I am open to a variety of options and will consider:
- selling the entire collection to one person
- breaking down and selling by various categories (i.e. Vegas, NV, CA, WA, ships, win cards, ...)
- selling smaller lots or individual chips to help complete collections
Thank you for reading and please reach out if interested or if you have any questions.
Hope you are all doing well, Jim (LM-5882-188)
