Originally the Nevada Biltmore from 1942-1950, the
Shamrock only lasted from 1951 to 1953 and catered
to the local Black population. Bandleader Horace Heidt
was a major owner. I remember Carey Burke telling me
he used to swim in the pool as a kid which extended to
where Bonanza road is now. I remember when the place
was a used furniture store and the Shamrock Cocktail
Lounge that was on the property.
