TIMELINES

License by Dec. 31, 2025
The Location Board approved the project on Dec. 1, 2025. The New York State Gaming Commission must now issue the final Gaming Facility License. The expected date is Dec. 31, 2025.

Construction Begins Early 2026
Site work at Citi Field's parking lots will begin immediately when the permits and financing are finalized in early 2026 (The Source).

Construction Duration 2-3 Years
Completion of the full-scale casino, hotel, and entertainment district will take 2-3 years according to the New York Gaming Facility Location Board.

Construction Phases 2027-2028
Construction of Hard Rock Metropolitan Park is expected to open in multiple phases. The first phase will likely build the casino, which could open as early as late 2027. The hotel and entertainment district will follow in a later phase and likely open in 2028.
