() David Schwartz wrote a 2003 book called "Suburban Xanadu" about the golden age of casinos on the LV Strip. From the niche operation of casinos in a faraway desert (Nevada) and a tinge of forbidden-fruit / mobbed-up operations that "Mr. & Mrs. America" only dabbled in occasionally, the LV casinos fit an unmet need with expanding multi-state operations over time. Now mainstream, not niche any longer.
