I remember watching the Follies Bergere show at the
Tropicana on my first visit to Las Vegas in 1965. I also
hit my first $5 jackpot there on a mechanical slot machine.
They were the only casino using yellow $5 chips and was
told the blue and white dollars were the first to be used
on the strip. I was always fascinated by the story of Mitzi
Stauffer Briggs the chemical heiress who was coerced into
investing her 44 million dollar inheritance into the mobbed-
up Trop and losing it all in the end. They had a Scopitone
jukebox in one of the restaurants I enjoyed watching also.
