Reno day 11
Reno day 11
() Hey Pam, returned Tuesday from a 6-day trip to LV which was mostly spent working on my father's/stepmother's house in Henderson doing all sorts of home improvements & maintenance. However, I did spend the evenings cruising all over metro Las Vegas picking up matchbooks, napkins where available and a few other goodies at mostly predetermined locations. Hit several antique stores in the "Arts District" as well which were semi-fruitful. On my last day, right down the road from my rental car location on S. LV BLVD was the Antique Mall of America and found a handful of books/boxes I did not have and ran across a LV Review Journal from April 11th, 1931, w/ a great ad from the LV Rainbow Club, a club I had not yet seen anything from matchbook wise, but the paper was out of my price range or at least what I was willing to pay. Snapped a picture for reference. I hope to compose some sort of article about my trip and the hundreds of miles driven and the 50,000 footsteps it took to collect and photograph my adventure in collecting.
And oh yeah, a newishly acquired example from Brunswick and a Christmas one that I'm not sure I've shared here. The Rainbow ad below.
Enjoy,
Eric
