() Anybody else old enough to recall the first convention auction at the Aladdin in 1992? At that time, Cuban chips were virtually unknown in the hobby. The first one I ever saw was in the Harvey’s chip display in Tahoe. Then there was one in the first ever club auction. I want to say that it was finally purchased by the great Gene Grossblatt after spirited bidding, in the $300 range, a huge amount for a chip in those days. I guess the word got to Cuba, and little by little, more started to come out. Chip collecting history.
