The Barn grin Reno day

Barn
207 N Center Street
Reno
1941-1944 licensed for Slots, 21, Craps

Formerly The Northern, the club was remodeled in a rustic style and reopened as the Barn. The Barn offered a bar, gaming tables, pinball machines, and other amusements to their customers.

There were several ownership changes through the years…some of them were Jack Fugit, Walter Oswald, George Hilliard, Irving Cowan, and Larry Brady.

In August of 1941 Reno gambler Mike Micheletti took over the gambling operations. Micheletti added numerous types of poker games and pan games to the pit games already offered.

In November of 1942 Larry Brady, one of the previous owners of the Barn, drew a gun in the Bank Club and threatened to kill 2 people. He was given probation on the condition that he join the merchant marines within 48 hours. He was also required to leave Reno and never return.

In 1944 the Barn was sold to Wilbur Clark who renamed it The Bonanza. Later Clark would relocate to Las Vegas, where he gained fame as the owner of The Desert Inn.
