The small example is 31 mm.

The smaller is made of two disks bonded together.

The larger is made in the same exact manner as most other plastic laminates; a core and additional layers.

There is no known published reason why the smaller is made as two disks, a method known in South America as casino chips and trade tokens though, not common.
