Most people sell to CarMax and other places is that they don’t want to use their car is a trade-in and don’t want to sell on their own. Too many horror stories of buyers coming back to the seller demanding $$ back for repairs, etc.

I have also heard of people getting an offer, accept it, but when they come to pick up the car, start noticing problems and the offer goes down. (Understandable as many people exaggerate the condition of their car online.)

Used cars right now are worth more than ever. CarMax will pay a decent price for a car, put some basic repair, cosmetic work on the car and soak the next buyer.

I have been told by several people I know in the car business is sell to them, but be VERY careful buying.
