The history of Jean goes back to the early 1900s when
Peter “Pop” Simon, who came from Mina, settled there.
The younger Peter Simon, age 22, took over Pop’s Oasis
in 1973 and was billed as Nevada’s youngest casino owner.
I remember seeing the Bonnie and Clyde car, that he bought,
there. Before there were any big joints at Primm there was
the Stateline Bar. They had quite a few slots I remember
playing.
