I seem to remember driving into Coaldale, years ago. No idea why. I would usually drive up the Montgomery Pass and turn north toward Mina and Luning. Short-cut to Fernley, sort of, without high mountain passes.

Nearest gas that I remember was the old, abandoned station at Montgomery Pass and west of that, a station, 76 gas I think, in Benton, California, at California's inflated prices. May or may not be open now.

Yup, don't drive around rural Nevada without a full tank of gas. Unless you expect Cary or me to drive by!
