WOW that brings back memories! In Philly we had Gimbels, Lit Brothers and Wanamakers Department Stores. My first furniture purchase after moving to New York in 1966 was from Korvette's in Brooklyn. To brag on the quality of furniture back then--I still have and use the 2 night stands from the bedroom set that I bought from Korvette's; they are indestructible.
