the black circle in the middle should be a real metal slug although I have seen one such chip (Yaamava') that's just a black circle. Somehow such chips go through an automatic counting device that . . . well, automatically counts them, and spits them out in neat stacks arranged by color. As to the particulars of HOW this all works - I don't know, remember I am not Mr. Technology around here.
