Testing my Casino Playing Card hypothesis

Long Post
During the last few years, I have noticed a shift in the North America casino playing supply market. This is from collecting, watching table game streamers, and finding other information on the internet.

Angel playing cards purchased GPI (Gaming Partners International) and initially made a lot of headway mainly in Nevada. Angel is the largest supplier in Macau and Singapore. Angel still supplies cards for a couple of large Las Vegas properties (Resorts World, Venetian/Palazzo). The real story seems to be how they destroyed their playing card business in North America - Angel/GPI discontinued the Gemaco line and Paulson line of casino playing cards.

I have not seen any new Gemaco and Paulson cards in the market… I am sure that there are some casinos that may have a supply these cards and are still using, but nothing new. I found a spoof Gemaco card website - it is definitely not a official website, just asks for contact information and has a location in Montana.

I decided to make a trip to Sioux City to visit the Hard Rock - which used Paulson cards since day one and to WinnaVegas in Sloan which has used Gemaco cards for maybe the last 15 years.

Hard Rick now uses USPC Bee Cards. - back design #08. I hated the price at $5 a deck. They charged $8 a deck for Paulson cards when they first opened. ]

WinnaVegas now uses MSC Gaming Triton Playing Cards - 10X cheaper than the Hard Rock at 50¢ a deck.

Seems like USPC has stepped up their game since purchased by by Carta Mundi and quickly filled the void in the market. Also seeing a lot of MSC Gaming cards on the market. BTW MSC Gaming does not share information about their cards other than what’s posted on their website.

If you are a card collector; what are you seeing in your area?
