Wendover and the Stateline Hotel started out in the late
twenties as a gas station and later added a roulette game
and motel rooms. There was a Nevada Club in the late 40s
but was gone when I first visited in 1969. The only other
place was the A-1 casino where I met Louis Dotson who was
running a crap and 21 game. Gene Jones who started to work
at the gas station in the early 30s was managing the casino
at the old Stateline Hotel and I asked him about old chips but
came up empty. Still, I got some good ones off the tables.
