I spend about a month every year in the Fernley area.
It’s primarily a bedroom community 30 miles from Reno.
There’s lots of fast food restaurants and warehouses plus
a Wal Mart. The Silverado used to be Sturgeon’s and Chuckers
is now Jackpot Crossing. In the 70s I would stop at the
Wigwam which was a walk up ice cream stand the Oasis was
a popular soda fountain. It’s now a vape shop. The Aldrich
Hotel, still standing, was the tallest building in town. The
upper floor was a brothel. Most of the photos are from the
book, “Fernley The Early Years” and most of the places are gone.
