I don't know, though there has been mention of them here in the past.
I read in an eBay description that early on Napoleon III issued a mandate requiring all worn or damaged MOP had to be removed from the tables which, in many cases, returned to the manufacturer to be recut, shaped and shaved for future engraving.
He also ended Roulette in Paris, and the game was restricted to at least day's coachride from the city... or something like that.
