I remember driving to Jarbidge in the 70s an getting lost
in the process. It’s pretty isolated and almost inaccessible
in the winter. I just talked to a guy at the Outdoor Inn and
he said the place burned to the ground in 1999 destroying
one of the gargoyles and badly damaging the other. The
place was completely rebuilt in 2000. There’s some photos
of it and n the internet. It closes November first and everyone
goes to Red Dog Saloon. The guy said it’s almost impossible
to find employees which seems to be a common problem
in small towns according to others I’ve talked to. By the way,
the last Stage Coach robbery occurred near Jarbidge in 1916.
The guy was caught and sent to Nevada State Prison.
