The Mint was open from 1958-60 and became the China
Mint from 1960 to 1963. By the time I got there in the mid
60s it was called Basin Street. Located in the Colombo
Hotel it was owned by Al Figoni and was pretty sleazy with
a girlie show and adult movies running non stop. Fuller
lists gaming but it was gone by then. Once I asked Al (who
I got to know when he had the Oak Room) about old chips
and he opened a closet (blocked by a Barboot table) and
gave me a set of those Mint chips from when he owned it.
