Re: Question about MGM Grand in Reno

I opened the MGM in 1978 and worked for two years as a boxman
in the dice pit. I seem to remember the roulette wheels were in a
far corner in the front pit, kind of hidden. Back then there were ten
dice tables more than any joint in town. They had all the games plus
jai alai which I didn’t much care for. The casino was 100,000 square
feet and it was a long hike down an escalator to the break room.
Walter’s right about the wheel checks. I remember some of them only
having a letter (usually an A) on them. That may have been the case
with MGM.
