Hard to believe now, but many casinos in the ‘70’s and ‘80’s used generic roulette chips: just a plain hotstamp chip with a 1 or an A on it. In downtown Vegas, you could walk from casino to casino and see the same chips on the roulette tables. Maybe someone can pinpoint the date, but eventually the GCB mandated that NV casinos had to have personalized roulette chips.
