In 1978 MGM Grand was licensed for 141 gaming tables.
Historical Context
• The property originally opened in May 1978 as the MGM Grand Reno, featuring over 100,000 square feet of gaming floor, making it one of the largest casinos at the time .
• During that time, there were numerous gaming tables—but specific historical records don’t list every game type. However, it’s highly likely that roulette was among them, given the size and scope of offerings typical for such large casino resorts.
My question is did the casino have roulette tables? I could not imagine a casino this size not having any. If they did have roulette where are the roulette chips? None shown on the Chip Guide and Jerry Birl doesn’t have any either.
Anyone have any idea or answers? Maybe Phil could way in with his great knowledge of Reno.
