One of my favorite people in Fallon was Emily Mitchell aka
“Mom” at the Roadside Inn. I think she was close to 90 and
still dealt 21. She also ran a dime crap game on an oval table
that she said came from Lawton Springs. She owned the
Star and Clover clubs and gave me chips from there. Another
was Willie Capucci who had the Esquire Club. He said he had
a bag of chips from there but we never could find them. Local
artist Vic Williams, whose father owned Owl Club, told me lots
of stories about the old clubs. I remember the Horseshoe, Sage-
brush, Nevada Club, and Frankie’s all of which are now gone.
