I don't remember if I ever told this story or not. A few years ago I bought 11 silver dollars from an 80 year old guy for $100. Most were S mint coins and when I checked them on Ebay they had a value of around $3800. WOW! I took them a few weeks later to a local coin show and showed them to two dealers figuring I would take the best bid. They both said, right away, they are fake. OUCH!! I took them to my local jeweler, told him about them being fake, and just hoping that I could get silver value for them if they were silver (He told me many of the fakes are still silver). He said they were real and offered $150. I took the money and ran but I never did find out if they were real or not.
