I guess it's all to appeal to the younger crowd (which it's fair to say the old Golden Gate didn't) but surely it's just going to encourage them to play at terminals or on their phone and skip the casino.
I seem to recall Jason Skinner mentioning an experiment in a London casino also. We do have a few here where the slots are playable with a card that you charge up and redeem from and no TITO.
