I didn't know the origins of jai alai. Interesting.

My passing knowledge was when MGM Grand (the original) had a fronton where you could bet on the matches. Seems there was a connection with it being played in Miami and by way of Cuba.

Of course, those places (Cuba and Miami/Little Havana) have roots back to Spain and the Basque region there. So I guess you can connect the dots all around. You learn something every day!
