I remember talking with Francis Escobar at the Alpine Lodge that was
previously the Lincoln Hotel in the early 70s. The casino was closed but
the tables and other gambling equipment was still there. There was a
poker table with a wheel of generic and a few LH chips that I was able to
get. An earlier owner, Blanche Olinger, was murdered in one of the upstairs
rooms. The place later operated as the Lucky Stiff bar. The building was in
bad shape and condemned by the city. I don’t know if it’s still standing.
