Question Regarding the Anti-Slabbing Movement..

Millions of people worldwide collect sports cards. Some only collect graded cards. Some only collect ungraded cards. Most people, like me, collect both.

My PC, personal collection, has increased in value tenfold since 2020. Both graded and ungraded cards have greatly increased in value. The phenomenon and effect of card grading will help fund my impending retirement.

My question is why was there such a herd mentality among chip collectors to ban chip grading for everyone? What made people think they had the right to speak for all collectors? If someone didn’t want to collect graded chips that is fine, but why not let others do so if they wanted to?

IMO that short-sighted decision was one of the biggest reasons for the decline/stagnation of chip values and the ongoing decline of CC & GTCC membership..
