I remember stopping in the A-1 in April 1969 on my way
back from Soda Springs Idaho where I bought a new truck.
I had a couple of beers at the bar where there was a clock-
like device on top of the cash register that spun around
when the bartender rang up a sale. You could win a drink,
cigar or whatever. Every other space was a blank. I never
won anything. Louie Dotson who later had the Hide-a-Away
was running the live gaming that was behind a railing as was
law in the old days. I especially remember the one man crap
table. The place closed in 1970 according to CW and later
became Jim’s. Later part of the building was later used as storage
by the Hiway department.
