Actually, an article from the Casino Collectibles News magazine from 2002, (Volume 15, #1) about the closing of the Regency Casino, Laughlin, and the closing of the Sports World (CBS Sports World) Casino, Las Vegas Strip.

The article, based on interviews of both owners, alludes to the chips of both casinos as not likely destroyed, per Nevada Gaming Control Regulations.
