The CCA storage unit is the only one not air conditioned and I brought a pop up tent to shade the entrance. Once the sun was past its zenith, it mellowed out a bit. We found a crappy fan with a bum leg (blade) and conscripted it to unwillingly move air around inside.
The other two units are indoors, climate controlled, and quite pleasant to work in.
The timing was based on my availability and my desire to JUST GET IT DONE. No more excuses of: “it’s a big job”, “no one wants to do it”, “no one has the capabilities to do it”, “there’s too many valuable things and we can let just anyone have access to it”, “we’ll get to it eventually”, “there’s no room to work”, etc.
The itemization of worthwhile things (sounds like a book title) will take place on future visits.
I also want to gather provenance as well as donation stipulations for everything so we know for certain what we can and can’t do with each item in the future.
Anyway, you’re not wrong to question my sanity but it worked out just fine.
