Last evening at the Early Bird Banquet, to kick-off the start of the 32nd Annual CCA Convention and Show, Las Vegas Mayor Shelley Berkley was present to announce through an official Proclamation, "ChipGuide Day" throughout the City of Las Vegas, on June 12th, in recognition of ChipGuide's 25th Anniversary.
Receiving the Proclamation was Charles Kaplan, ChipGuide Webmaster and Museum of Gaming History Chairman. The Mayor brought 'business card' dice for every attendee, as a token of her appreciation for what ChipGuide does for Las Vegas, especially since ChipGuide lists 2 of her past years, running for Congressman campaign chips!
Some CCA wards were presented following the Mayor's remarks, as follows:
Newest Hall of Fame inductee is Mike (Cap't Q) Quinlivan.
Greg Susong Award recipient, Steve Miller.
Article of the Year Award recipient, Ed Hertel.
Book of the Year Award recipient, Brad Smith and Tom McEvoy.
CCA President's Award was given to Ron Gaudette, Jay Sands and Mike Brodeur.
MoGH Chairman's Award was given to Pam Focazio.
A great dinner has had and we were then treated to a presentation of talk from our Guest Speaker, Neal Portnoy, a local Las Vegan artist, who medium id felt-tip markers.
Lastly, a debt of gratitude was offered to out-going President, David Spragg, for his 14 combined years of being a CCA Officer as a Secretary and President from our Emcee for the evening, Doug Smith.
