Re: A few of mine ... for various reasons

1. Gotta include the Peppermill restaurant and its Fireside Lounge, for the Rat Pack era vibes and neon. It even made a cameo appearance in the movie "Casino". Pretty good food there too.

2. Michael's at South Point. Named for owner Michael Gaughan, in its second location after leaving Barbary Coast. Again, the classy vintage Vegas lives on with superb food and service. Maybe for your one-and-done list, but everyone should experience it at least once.

3. Eiffel Tower Restaurant at Paris-Las Vegas. For the view, plus the atmosphere. Good food too. Again, maybe a one-and-done every decade kind of place.

4. For a great view, the Top of the World restaurant at Strat tower is good, or just go to the bar for a cocktail if not doing dinner. It's worth seeing the LV valley in all directions below.

5. Too many steak places to mention, some not too pricy and others quite pricy. Even the Circus Circus steak house has/had a good reputation and was OK, but not the same atmosphere as others. I'm trying a new one (to me) next week, when I'm in town for the convention.

6. And for my repeat visit almost every trip, one of the number of seafood restaurants that serve "Pan Roast" in a variety of styles -- the Big Sur Oyster Bar at South Point has it on their menu, as do similar venues at Durango, Red Rock, Palace Station (the originator of the Pan Roast in LV, I think) and elsewhere. It's just a dish that I enjoy when in LV.

I'll concede this is a tourist-oriented list above, but hey, I AM a tourist when in LV. grin
