The magazine costs / availability / delivery options are all areas that need review and deliberation.
I'm personally interested in the economics of a "hybrid" solution of sorts:
Shift to an online quarterly magazine for time-sensitive communications & articles (before & after convention reporting; election info; ads; boilerplate info & how-to info; tips & tricks on getting the most out of your membership experience; referrals to CCA website stuff of interest, etc. Plus member-written articles as we currently enjoy.)
All of this in conjunction with the occasional email-delivered newsletters, also used for time-sensitive communications.
Then IN ADDITION to these digital & email vehicles, publish a curated "CCA Annual" that assembles the best and/or most relevant articles of the past year; a digest of club milestones; a look back/a look forward; maybe even a couple of articles or essays unique to this CCA Annual. It would be available for digital presentation at no extra cost OR available as a printed & mailed publication for sale to members at $x.00 and for sale to non-members at a higher price. (The appropriate prices TBD.)
That's my 2 cents. BTW, the idea of a quarterly-digital plus an Annual supplement isn't new with me. I've heard variations of it before.
One other thing: In looking at ANA's membership options, they have several price points, including a digital only that's less expensive than the full membership that gets their printed/mailed magazine. Not directly comparable to the CCA as they are MANY times larger, but still, the idea of digital delivery is no longer novel in non-profit hobby circles as well.
