A real work of art with 8 DIFFERENT insert colors and a scalloped inlay, made by the Burt Co. in 1973, per the order card. They were truly artists in those days, as long as the customer wanted to pay for it.
The order card on ChipGuide even specifies the 8 colors: red, white, purple, yellow, chocolate, gray, green, light blue.
But notice that the counter-clockwise inserts, beginning with red, don't quite follow the order above. It gets me wondering if there's a correct/consistent pattern each time, or if there may be errors in the order of colors. After all, the inserts were all being placed by hand. If would be interesting to have a box of them (10 boxes were made, per order card) to look for errors.
A real beauty, Archie!
