Re: Passing along some info about Rich Burgel...

So very sorry to hear about the passing of my dear friend Rich Burgel. We met at a trade show in Las Vegas over 25 years ago--and became friends instantly. He always opened his doors of his home for me to avoid staying in hotels on all my trips to Las Vegas. I have so many great stories and we shared thousands of laughs. He loved his customers and loved history. He taught me everything about Las Vegas history and help me succeed in finding all the right people to work with and trust in Las Vegas.

I will never forget flying him to Chicago to spend a weekend with my family and taking him to Chicago to learn more about its great historical gangsters. I took him to where they gunned down John Dillinger and he laid down on the sidewall. We went to where the St Valentines Day Massacre was--then I closed the day to visits to two of Al Capones hideouts--and celebrated with a Chicago hot dog at a speakeasy type hot dog stand.

He was generous, fun, quick witted, and one of the kindest people I ever had the pleasure to know. I helped him set up three stores in the Nevada area--and I never laughed so hard. He is definately in heaven entertaining all the angels with his quick wit. My guess is he has a collectible store in Nevada. I will miss him and his kind smile. His love for his mother was incredible--and he truly was a fountain of knowledge. I met some of the most interesting people in ls Vegas through Rich--including my best rep ever, the Late Steve Kay. You were a fantastic friend--and I will never forget your kind personality. You taught me so much. Rest in Peace. Bob
