A post about Greg Susong & The Chip Board…

…Greg Susong was one of my best friends. Even though we lived in different states, me here in Las Vegas, Nevada & Greg in Wellington, Kansas we talked on the phone a lot over the years.

We first met online in the old Prodigy board in late 1996. Then many chippers moved over to the CompuServe group. Greg saw a need for something better & started The Chip Board in March 1998. It was the BIG thing back then for chip collectors. 😃 That was a long time ago, 26 years this month.

Of course now it is a very outdated platform. But it is still home to many chip collectors. Mostly an older group set in their ways. But NOBODY should put these collectors down or say derogatory remarks about them. Those of you younger collectors should show them the respect they deserve! If they don’t want to move over to newer platforms then so be it. You too will get older one day, if you are lucky that is.

To the older collectors, you might be having a hard time getting use to new things. But give it a try, Barry Sherwood has been going overboard trying to work things out for those having a hard time. Give him a chance.

It is going on 15 years now since Greg has passed away, but I have no doubt he would have moved on to another platform if he was still with us. Just like he saw the need to move on from Prodigy & CompuServe.

Eventually The Chip Boad will be gone & a lot of use with it, but while it is still here, let us all try & get along. 😊
