Re: My Big Al story…

Thanks for the story, Andy! I remember hearing about the Center Fold - and I got to check out the Jolly Trolly. My story there: I had moved to the area in '81 and was living in N. Vegas and I paid for my crappy apartment (where the previous occupant was a hooker, so guys were banging on door at 2am for a month) and also wanted to deal poker, and like you, couldn't get into a job, so I got down to my last $100 and played face-up 21 at Foxies and Vegas World, made some money, and then my car exploded in the heat, and I was down to a bicycle. I could get to the Bingo Palace without trouble, so I played some poker there and helped open a game several times. Rick, the poker room manager, offered me a job as a prop player. $30 a day and all the scary food and 50-cent 7-Stud poker I could eat. I moved to Reno in '82.
