It seems like whether we're coming from Carson City (taking Six Mile Canyon Road), or coming from Reno, we often see wild horses when we're going to visit Virginia City.�

I was going to say that there was no gambling here, but it’s iconic so I included it anyway. Just to confirm, I looked in Fuller’s Index Plus, and it’s listed…in 1972! So I’m guessing that they might have had a slot machine, or two, for a brief period of time.
Unsuccessful as a miner, Samuel Clemens went to work for the Territorial Enterprise Newspaper in Virginia City. While working there, he adopted the nom de plume Mark Twain.
