Several years ago we were in Virginia City. My husband noticed a sign that said “Six Mile Canyon”. He wondered where the road went, so he turned onto the road and we followed it.

We saw a Victorian house, or two, near the beginning of the route. Along the way we saw rock formations, lush green trees, horses, old foundations, mountains, and a small stream.

We’ve taken the road several times since then…it’s one of my favorite short, scenic, Nevada drives.

The end of the road intersects with Highway 50. Turn right and you’ll go through Dayton (which is how we landed in Dayton for the first time) and Mound House, on your way to Carson City.
