I remember having a few of those 49 cent breakfasts
at the Las Vegas club when I first moved to Las Vegas
in 1967. One of my favorite pastimes was watching the Faro game
that was always busy. There wasn’t any carpeting and they
had cardboard on the floor in the pit. Tutor Scherer was also
Poet Laureate of Nevada and there were two Scherer brothers
where I worked at the Golden Gate who I think may have been
his sons.
