I knew George Jameson who said he owned the Hut Club
and that his father owned the Victory club across the Hiway.
The Magnesium club was next door and I remember Ligouri’s
was in an old house just north of that. I used to stop in the
Victory Club but there was no gambling and is now a Harley
Davidson shop. I also remember Don’s bar, the Jolly Jug and
Swanky Club. The Bingo Barn used to be a grocery store and
was next to the Pittman post office. Key Pittman was a US senator
who died five days after being elected to a sixth term in 1940.
