The P.D. took the report over the phone?? Really?? WOW!
I would think they would of sent an officer to review the video surveillance tapes and possibly take some finger prints! Maybe even talk to some of the employees that work that floor. If the door wasnt broken into then chances are that it is someone in housekeeping.
Other than an officer should of responded, theres no other advise for ya. Its reported and thats all you can do. Now just hope for the best that they catch em. Unfortunately, i bet the $$ is already gone even if they are caught Best case scenario is that its an employee and the hotel reimburses them.
