Porcelain, on the other hand is a type of ceramic which is fired at the same time pigment ia applied to the surface. It's much harder and requires harder/sharper tooling to trim/cut.

I have true ceramic plaques from France that were made in the 1890s. They feel and sound just like the Chipco product.
