CashCoinConnection says the HHR hot-stamped chips were attributed to Pilar's by Doug Saito. It also says Pilar's was open from 1970 to 1976, long enough perhaps to go through two different chip molds. No $1 HHR chip is listed, though. I have a black $25 of that series. We need to find Pilar and ask her!
