Comcast has a setting to eliminate the email from their server whenever you delete the message from the computer completely. To eliminate a bunch, highlight the first message and then go to the last message and hold the shift key while highlighting the last message (this will highlight everything between the two messages), then delete. You may then need to delete everything in your deleted file.
