Cal-Nev-Ari Remembered - Take a Look at This !!!

Rich Burgel put up a post about the Cal-Nev-Ari Casino closing that got me thinking about a visit I had with Nancy Kidwell 30 years ago in 1994. Before the Annual Convention I traveled around Nevada and visited some small older Casinos all over the State. At the Cal-Nev-Ari, I talked Nancy Kidwell into getting some old Horsehead Right Mold chips out of her vault for me to purchase. She was a little reluctant but finally let me purchase about a half dozen each of the $1 and $5 chips. I had also gotten some $1 and $5 chips from the Bucket of Blood in Virginia City on the same trip.
When I got home, I put an ad in the Summer 1994 issue of the Casino Chip and Token News and sold several of these chips (see the scan below). I wish I had hung on to these chips for 30 years and put them up for sale now. They are bringing a lot more than what I sold them for back in 1994. I really miss the old days when I was new to this Hobby and went everywhere looking for chips.
Take care,
Jerry
